Paul Romer and William Nordhaus win the 2018 Nobel Prize in economics

The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences has decided to award the Sveriges Riksbank Prize in Economic Sciences in Memory of Alfred Nobel 2018 to William D. Nordhaus and Paul Romer.

The Nobel Prize in Economic Sciences was awarded on Monday to William Nordhaus for his work on climate economics and Paul Romer for his work on the endogenous growth theory, the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences announced.

The Sveriges Riksbank Prize in Economic Sciences is awarded in memory of Swedish philanthropist Alfred Nobel.

A total of 79 individuals have been awarded the honour from 1969 to 2017.
