Nagpur: A woman was sold to a family in Oman. In what seems like a case of human trafficking, a 35-year-old man along with four other accomplices promised the woman a job in Oman and allegedly sold her for Rs 1.50 lakh. A case has been registered in Nagpur’s Sakkardara Police Station against all the five people
The Police has booked Nasruddin alias Raja Sheikh, Nasima, Akila, Firoz and Imtiyaz in the case. According to the Police, the financial situation of the victim was not very strong and accused Akila, on the pretext of getting her a job of a maidservant, sold her in Oman.
After the victim faced harassment in Oman, she informed her sister in Nagpur. The victim’s sister filed a complaint in Sakkardara Police station. The victim was later contacted by the Indian Embassy in Oman and is currently in their custody.
Sakkardara Police has registered a case of human trafficking against Raja Sheikh, a resident of Bhupesh Nagar, Nagpur. Police also registered a case against Nasima, Akila, Firoz, and Imtiyaz under IPC section 370, 371, 420, 34.
